Cozy & Cold, put the Horse before the cart...
"1234"
One Two Three Four
Tell me that you love me more
Sleepless long nights
That is what my youth was for
Old teenage hopes are alive at your door
Left you with nothing but they want some more
Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, You know who you are
Sweetheart bitterheart now I can tell you apart
Cosy and cold, put the horse before the cart
Those teenage hopes who have tears in their eyes
Too scared to own up to one little lie
Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, or ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then
One, two, three, four, five, six, nine, or ten
Money can't buy you back the love that you had then
Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are
Oh, you're changing your heart
Oh, you know who you are
Oh, who you are
For the teenage boys
They're breaking your heart
For the teenage boys
They're breaking your heart

I have been trying to take the MARTA when practical -- the less I have to drive my car, the happier I will be!! So, needless to say I have been getting more excersise (and the 10 lbs down is what I have to show for it....)
Hopefully an offer will come rolling in the door soon

So -- I am here....finally...the new guy in town...and on my own.
Its been a rough journey to this point, but the road is starting to go in my favor...
Work is shaking out (soon I hope), i have a place to stay for now, and the people I am meeting are great. I missed the south!!
So if you see me on the streets -- say HEY!
And that above---my new motto :-) Really its about not being boring -- and boring is NOT me...

Typhoid Lagoon
It was of course HOT (being August in Whorelando -- its always a sweltering sweatbox) and very busy, as most of the florida kids are not yet back in school.
A good time was had by all...the highlights are just all in all the goofiness that naturally occurs when you mix six adults, a little rum (and or/bourbon) and hit the water.... :-)
and for the next oh 30 days or so you can see a handful of goofy pics posted here

It does make it rather tough to negotiate the mornings -- when its already wet and warm. But with Southern Decadence coming up -- I have to get used to the humdity again ... I better get some frizz ease, and a personal fan LOL...

Bubba Licious!!
So, one of my good friends got photographed by a great fort lauderdale photographer -- and i went to his website and sent him an email -- and he sent the nicest reply back. He does such great work, and I am jealous as all hell, because I can take me some great pictures (see attached) but I cant shoot a person worth a shizzle LOL... anyway -- stop by and see his work! http://www.bubbaclicks.net/

Random thoughts
We are -- for my first time -- going to southern decadence in NOLA. Now, I should say tentatively -- as last time we planned a trip to NOLA, Kat came to the party and ruined the whole thing *sigh*....
We will hope for better this time...and maybe some more news later as I get exciting things to say!

Check out this video
Hi,
You've got to watch this video. It was produced for Cyndi
Lauper's True Colors tour this summer, and it's a pretty amazing
testament to one of most heartbreaking problems in our country
today.
Thousands of people are attacked every year because of their
sexual orientation, and there's still no federal hate crimes law
to protect them.
It would mean a lot to me if you could take a minute to watch
the video and write your Senators, and then pass this along to
five friends. Just go to:

FW: Have you heard?
General?
Hint: His past writings indicate that he believes homosexuality
is a "lifestyle" choice that should be "cured," and he has
compared reproductive organs to plumbing parts.
His name is Dr. James Holsinger. And he's the man America might
be depending on for sound medical advice.
Holsinger's record seems to demonstrate that he is uninterested
in the best scientific information available; instead, he allows
his anti-gay bias to inform his medical judgments.
That means that instead of hearing the usual warnings against
smoking and drinking, America might be subjected to a new one
that says, "homosexuality is unnatural and unhealthy!"
I'm outraged - and I knew you would be, too. But we can do
something to stop Holsinger from becoming our nation's top
doctor. I wrote my Senators, telling them to vote NO on his
nomination. Will you join me?
The Senate needs to hear from as many of us as possible - so
that they have no choice but to listen.
Take action today at:

Weekends in Lauderdale .....
We met some great guys from DC (shout outs to you boys if you are reading :-) ) ....and they made the time more fun than usual.
We go to Fort Lauderdale about once a quarter -- so its a nice respite from the every day drama that is life sometimes! We almost always stay at the Elysium resort, but they were full this time, so we stayed at the Alcazar (slash Worthington -- they are the same basic facility). The grounds were great, and the rooms were clean and bright. So no problems there. The crowd on the Worthington side was okay - but our new friends from DC and us stuck to the Alcazar side -- it was quieter, and a little more relaxing.
I wouldn't really recommend the Alcazar -- and not because its a subpar resort, but because the management there are pretty cranky, and almost seem to be inconvenienced by their guests. For example -- a couple from Amsterdamn were traveling round the world (this was like month three of their vacation) and opted to stay @ the Worthington. They accidentally locked themselves out of their room, called the emergency lock out number posted on the office, and apparently were treated pretty crassly (all second hand information...). We will be back at the Elysium next time. The crowd always seems much more friendly, and the owners and managers have always been supurb to all their guests.
But -- all in all good vacation. Next stop == the gayest place on earth! GayDays Disney!!

The ice is melting, and when the seas rise, I will have a nice underwater view from my living room...
Upton Sinclair said “It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends on not understanding it,” which seems to define the current administration.
After watching an Inconvenient Truth (which, I recommend doing at least once, with as many people as you can gather around) – it seems that for some reason the Republicans have an issue with Global Warming – and that somewhat makes sense to me – after all Rebublican seems to equal Oil Whore, and Oil equals Global Warming (simplified tremendously…)…
What doesn’t make sense to me is that apparently the Falwell camp – in their Liberty Alumni paper – has an issue with global warming as well. I don’t understand how Christians could be against saving the very thing God created for us; or is it that if we believe that Global Warming is going on – we have to subscribe to some scientific theory—and that might hint at a evolutionary stance?
My friend used to say “God protects his people…” but you know what – sometimes the ignorant can’t be protected…..

General Pace and his Rhetoric
"I do not believe that the armed forces are well served by saying through our policies that it's OK to be immoral in any way, not just with regards to homosexual acts," the Joint Chiefs chairman said.
"So from that standpoint, saying that gays should serve openly in the military to me says that we, by policy, would be condoning what I believe is immoral activity," he added"
So, if we are follow a strict moral code in the Military, and not allow any one to serve who is, in any way, involved in "imoral" behavior -- who does that leave us with in the miltary?
I guess Mr. Pace ( I will refrain from calling General....as he doesnt deserve the title) is perfect, has never done an immoral thing in his view? Or is it just immoral when someone else does it? Is this a "do as I say, not as I do" game?
If the Legal Defence Fund is right, and there are some 65,000 GLBT servicemembers, I would LOVE to see the day they all came out together. Lets see what the military does then? 65,000 court martials? Pulling solider numbers way down, and stretching the resources even more? Ha...doubt ful!
Turns out, the first American wounded in Iraq is gay, and here is what he has to say about this shebang: http://www.hrc.org/Template.cfm?Section=Home&CONTENTID=35817&TEMPLATE=/ContentManagement/ContentDisplay.cfm

Idolrific
So – I have a sneaking suspicion that the Idol this year is going to be equipped with lady parts. The boys were super BLAH, and the Girls were either boring as snail snot, or fan-fricken-tastic.
That last girl, singing “And I’m telling you” was amazing. I had to watch it twice. That Melinda girl (You know, the SUPER shy one) is also phenomenal! Amazing, and I don’t think she knows it – but sure is getting the picture FAST!!
And the first girl, was like a prettier, less trailer Fantasia…rocking those songs out.
The only guy I remember was Mister Cutie Beat Boxer – he was good. Oh and Chris Sligh…. But I think this years gonna be down to two girls. I wont hesitate predictions until we get at least to the bottom eight, so I can see the performances a few more times, and see who grows, and who just sucks!
I am such a TV whore.. *sigh*

GW -- What a moron...
So—last night on the way home I was listening to NPR, and they were doing an interview with GW. I just confirmed my belief that the man should NEVER speak with out a prepared text.
A few of the things he said:
“You know I have trouble pronouncing words as it is…” in reference to calling the Democratic Party the Democrat Party
Also, when asked about his cockeyes health care plan, which would take benefits of plans over a certain amount – he was asked”
“Wouldn’t that be a tax increase for those people with good health plans?” (which is the gist of the plan)
GW said “No. Its just a rewriting of the tax code to make it more fair for everyone”
At that point, it was time to turn him off – because he was getting on my LAST nerve!
As we were watching the Outlaugh Film this past week, a comic (Leah Delariah) said something that both funny, sad and true
“I shouldn’t feel smarter than my president”
Amen Leah, Amen!!

American Idol Blues
Thats all I can say. How bout that very large girl last night during the Elvis Montage singing "Hunka-Hunka-Burnin-Love" one more word R-U-D-E.
I can't wait for the hollywood rounds, where they are a little less harsh, and a little more talented!
To sooth my American Idol Blues, I have included a lovely picture of Jennifer Hudson -- who, BTW, is looking HOT these days. Congrats on the Golden Globe, and the Oscar Nod -- see you don't have to win to be fabulous. Chin up to those who don't make it!!

The next American Idol.......(thoughts as we go along)
Secondly, Darwin "Mesha" Ready, girl, get you some help. Get your hair de-fried, PUT ON A FRICKEN BRA, and a little personality... I mean Sheeesh!! The deadpan delivery of her chat with the judges was scary enough, let alone her singing. AND -- her mom was like her freaky twin LOL....
HOLY Smokes.
Ummm....why you gonna bring your doggies to the auditions....thats wierd.
Now, if you recall the girl with the pink fishnets on her arms... she needs a gay boy to guide her. Those arms look like bologna -- That outfit, just BAD evil, wrong. I wish I had a picture to show you... Simon says she looks bunburned,I think its just plain WRONG.
So far -- seattle SUCKS.
Maybe the second hour will be better.
I feel like maybe they are "highlighting" the bad ones, and are going to surprise with the good ones come holly wood --- because maybe they are just THAT good. LORD I hope so!
Can I just say, that Target has the absolutly greatest commercials. That "Hellp Goodbuy" commerical, so creative, and fun! WOW. the most entertaining thing so far this hour.

No...I dont drink at alll
(1) Glassy Eyed
(2) Overly Broad movements
(3) Inability to focus very well
(4) Slurred speech
Yup, that Paula Abdul was drunk up again! Whats up with that? I mean, seriously, can she JUST have coke next time? This is bordering on embarrassment!!
Whilst I am on American Idol -- SCARY from MN!! WOW -- only 16 went through.
Now, some of the people they pushed through to the judges was just for shits n giggles, because seriously -- they were far from good. Those "pre-judges" are sadistic fuckers LOL. You know that they probably have a quota of bad talent.
I sure hope it gets much better, because if its like this in all seven cities, thats only what, 100 contestants total LOL...
Seattle -- I love ya, but it looks like you wont be much better *sigh*
Things are heatin' up for 2008

I heard this today again...
"Tuesday Morning" by M Ethridge... fabulous!
10:03 on a Tuesday morning
in the fall of an American dream
a man is doing what he knows is right
on flight 93
Loved his mom and he loved his dad
loved his home and he loved his man
but on that bloody Tuesday morning
he died and American
[chorus]
Now you cannot change this
You can't erase this
You can't pretend this is not the truth
Even though he could not marry
Or teach your children in our schools
Because who he wants to love
Is breaking your God's rules
He stood up on a Tuesday Morning
In the terror he was brave
And he made his choice and without a doubt
A hundred lives he must have saved
[chorus]
And the things you might take for granted
Your inalienable rights
Some might choose to deny him
Even though he gave his life
Can you live with yourself in the land of the free
And make him less of a hero than the other three
Well it might begin to change ya
In a field in Pennsylvania
[chorus]
Stand up America
Hear the bell now as it tolls
Wake up America
It's Tuesday Morning
Let's roll
[chorus]
The CALM before the storm....
This is truly the calm before the storm. We are rolling into January, and all the bookkeepers are busy getting the W-2’s ready to go out, and getting their corporate books up to date, then sending them to us. Then we get to have the fun of dealing with Taxes through the end of April!
Which means I get to sacrifice a lot of Saturdays … but at least I think I will bike to work when I have to work on Saturdays – since I won’t have to wear business dress (which is hard to bike in). Plus, I can grab a healthy lunch from the market (which is delightful).
I honestly don’t mind tax season, it keeps me quite busy, then I feel I deserve a nice vacation, and don’t feel bad taking some time off of work (Not that that’s a problem for me…I would rather be at home doing anything else).
Once Tax Season is over, I will start with my endurance training – I mean the CPA exam training ;-) That is going to require me to give up most of my Saturdays as well, and almost for the remainder of the year. The ones I get to keep, will be study days for the test. So, busy busy busy times ahead!!
I will keep up the blog when things strike me, and its easier since I can do it from my phone. I can do it while waiting for the doctor, or just waiting in general.
Happy 2007 everyone! Don’t forget to do your taxes – or better yet have me do them for you ;-)
